The almighty and dysfunctional Lagos Seaport is 60 nautical miles to the is Atlantic Ocean, While the Potential OSEAKWA Seaport, somewhere in Anambra State that was abandoned in 1959 by the Nigeria government is only 18 nautical miles to Atlantic Ocean with a depth of 20mft.
By implication, shipping goods from China to Lagos with Lagos Seaport is very far than shipping goods from China to Oseakwa Seaport, using the Seaport at Ihiala, Anambra state. It also implies that Imo, Abia, Enugu, Ebonyi, Anambra, Rivers, Delta, Edo, Beyelsa, Benue, Kogi and Akwa ibom business men living in Lagos will find it easy to have their business in south- East, South-south and North Central by using Oseakwa seaport when and if it’s dredged.
This deep seaport will create over two million jobs, directly and indirectly, in marine business, oil and gas, power, education, housing, agro-food industry, entertainment, tourism, etc.
Unfortunately those who want this nation dead and unworkable for their selfish interest remain resolute in this evil and wickedness until the Nigerian people, especially those at the receiving end of this injustice begin to take drastic action to demand justice and pursue same to concrete conclusion as in the case of the recent Abia State electoral victory that saw entire citizens liberated for a bondage of over 20 years.
