The Nigerian Army established from the colonial West African Frontier Force (WAFF) was also established to protect governments or regimes and not the people.
None of these national security agencies participated or supported our political class in our struggle for independence.
After our political independence, the military started the destruction of the Police. Immigration and fire service were expunged from the Police. Under Buhari in 1984, the Military further destroyed the Police and that action has continued till date. The military has taken over police, policing and policing responsibilities.
That is the simple reason why insecurity is prosperous in Nigeria because the Police as the largest bureaucratic Institution is weak and wobbling and largely ineffective.
Inter agency rivalry must exist because the army has grossly abandoned their traditional responsibility since we have no external aggressions.
