“South East remains the industrial capital of Nigeria and home to 70% of SME managers in Nigeria but we are not recording the kind of progress that is expected of us because of lack of proper coordination, I want to plead with all the political leaders from the South East to join hands together with the President and his men irrespective of your political affiliation and let’s work with them to make this region a place to be reckoned with”
Ex Labour Party State Chairman (Ag) and Federal House of Rep candidate in the 2023 general elections Hon. Dr. Kelechi MADUGBA sends congratulatory messages to the leadership of the South East Development Commissions (SEDC) for its ambitious move to reposition the region.
Speaking on the appointment of Senator Orji Uzo Kalu as the Chairman Senate Committee on the South East Development Commissions, (SEDC) Hon MADUGBA said that Honor and appreciations should go to the man who has made all these possible by raising the statutory bar on focusing development in the South East.
In a statement he issued to journalist at a reception of well wishers and supporters he organised in Abuja, Hon. Madugba said: “Whatever development you see that is taking shape today in the South East, we should never hesitate to give credits to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for signing the South East Development Commissions into law, by that action alone the President has won the heart and support of many of us from the region and I want to seize this august occasion to send my heartfelt appreciations to His Excellency, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the great role he has played in bringing SEDC to focus.
Also Hon Madugba noted that the appointment of Senator Orji Uzoh Kalu (OUK) as Chairman, Senate Committee on SEDC is not a coincidence, he is a man I have work with during his days as the governor of Abia State, many of the infrastructure development and policies he initiated is still sustainable right from his community in Igbere where he played a pivotal role in bringing development of legacy and equally raising many men that till today they are people to be reckoned with in the society.
In like manner, Hon. Kelechi Madugba calls for special recognition of the works Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu is doing at the Green Chambers, he remarked that;
“Without Hon. Ben Kalu’s sincere and painstaking contribution to the development of the region, we will not be talking about SEDC today, these are the kind of men from the South East the President has surrounded himself with and I must commend His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for that foresight and I am pleased to join forces with these great men to continue promote the efforts of the President in reviving hope for the citizens of this great country
I want to plead with all the political leaders from the South East to join hands together with these great men irrespective of your political affiliation and let’s work with them to make this region a place to be.
As a matter of fact, South East remains the industrial capital of Nigeria and home to 70% of SME managers in Nigeria but we are not recording the kind of progress that is expected of us because of lack of proper coordination and now that we have finally gotten a platform or a special purpose vehicle where all the development concerns of the region would be discussed and implemented, I want to encourage us all to join hands with these great men of the South East to make our dreams of overall development of the region come true.
The president is doing his best to bring this country together, same goes with some of our leaders from the South East including the first lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, I want to specially thank a for all her pet projects towards our women especially in Abia State and I won’t forget the efforts of emerging younger generation of leaders like Seyi Tinubu who is learning very fast from the great legacies of the father, the President, Irrespective of whatever political divide, these our leaders deserve our support and prayers at all times and we should consider it a privilege to align ourselves in the great things happening in this region under the administration of His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.” Said Hon Madugba.
The meeting ended with a light entertainment for all attendant as Hon Kelechi Madugba promised a regular engagement with the journalist to continue to push the cause of SEDC forward.
