Arising from the outcome of the recent inauguration of Acting State Chairman for Labour Party, Abia State Chapter, in the person of Hon. Sir Emmanuel Nweze Otti (KSA) members of the State Working Committee, (SWC) the highest ranking body in the party hierarchy, stakeholders and supporters of Labour Party in Abia continue to show unalloyed solidarity to the leadership of the party led by the newly appointed Acting State Chairman.

In an interview granted by the State Publicity Secretary of the Party Comrade Njoku Jerry Ajike in Umuahia, He said;
“If there was any time our great party requires ‘bonding and cohesiveness’ it is now and I am aware there will be a lot of reforms to put every member of the party and activities of the in proper shape.”

“There is a lot of anticipation and the stakes are high, this is common for a ruling party like ours and we are not relenting on that line of victory until the party is fully established in Abia State, by that position, let me just make it clear that there would be certain reforms as fully backed by the leadership of the party and one of such reforms would be the need to boost the membership status of the party and invoke the act of responsibility to the people which is our primary goal as a party of the hardworking ordinary people of the state  ”

“You are aware of the increasing number of decamping ongoing across the state, many of them former leaders in various political parties even from PDP and YPP, they are coming over to join Labour Party because they have seen a clear difference from the sordid past of political manipulation and irresponsible leadership.”
“Prior to this moment there is another political party, SDP which before now had collapsed entire Party structure across the 17 LGA to join Labour party led by its former Deputy Governorship candidate Chief Dickson Asonye, and I was privileged to be instrumental to that collapse and successful adoption into the ruling party.”

“The leadership of the party today is speaking with one voice and in clear terms that intending members of the public, irrespective of the party they’re coming from should register with their Ward first before declaring their intention for any role of responsibility in the party.

“Stakeholders should show evidence of their stake in the party including sponsored meetings within the Ward and be committed to the progress of the party at their ward levels”

“Where applicable, stakeholders should boost the registration process in their wards by enlisting their followers and picking up membership dues of their supporters and friends, there is no special way to show your popularity both as a member or as a Stakeholder if you’re joining us without a good number of your supporters.”

“More so, all members of the party at any leadership role beginning from the state are encouraged to stand up to their responsibilities to the party down to the Ward level’.
“This includes all elected officers and appointees of government, identify with your wards by supporting activities of the party and endeavor to attend meetings where applicable”

“Every member of the party Including elected members, officers and appointees of government should respect the party supremacy at all times as the primary platform that has brought us to our present Political position therefore our loyalty to the party should be paramount and non negotiable to enable us continue to enjoy the support of the party.” Said Mr. Njoku

Speaking on the increasing number of PDP stalwarts joining the Labour Party including those who served in the previous governments of Abia State and holding senior political and administrative roles;

Mr. Njoku said’ “Those joining Labour party today in Abia State are people favoured with foresight and I also want to believe they are among the very few that are sincere and committed to the development and good health of Abia state and its citizens which forms a part of the mission of Labour Party and that is, to move us away from consumption to production.”

“Therefore anyone willing to join us is highly welcomed and we shall continue to receive more people from various political parties whom has already declared their interest and only waiting to make it public at the appropriate time.”

“Thank you”
