“Abia Labour Party leader Comrade Njoku Jerry Ajike congratulates workers in the state for witnessing another May Day holiday in good shape. Speaking from his country home in Ohafia, Comrade Njoku who served as the State Publicity Secretary Labour Party in Abia said:
“We are the real face and engine of Nigeria growing democracy, it is evident in what we are doing in Abia state as a ruling party, it is evident in our Logo of family, Technology, and Productivity, This is the reason why the Labour Day holiday signifies a special occasion in the lives of all Nigerian workers especially members of the Labour Party family at large.
Speaking on the position of the party in Abia and welfare of workers under the leadership of the ruling party, Mr. Njoku said;
“Labour Party has continued to show example of what leadership elected by the people and for the people should look like and if given the opportunity once again we will replicate what we have done in Abia State under the leadership of H.E.Gov. Alex Otti in Nigeria as a whole.
Speaking further, Mr. Njoku said; “Before we take over the leadership from former occupants of government house here in Umuahia, the workers were exposed and subjected to all forms of inhumane treatment including working under a very disorganized environmental situation, people were owed indiscriminately for services they have rendered to the state in all sincerity, there was no functional amenity across the state, and no insurance of any kind and the future of workers in Abia State civil service was completely bleak.”
“Because we are a party with high value for family, hardwork and productivity, we have to roll up our sleeves and sit down to work and I am very grateful to God and our supporters because our choice to work hard for the people and their environment is yielding successful results across all sectors of the society.”
“More so, our choice of a leader in the person of H.E. Gov Alex Otti resonate with our values for integrity and accountability to the people and our environment, he has proven beyond every doubt that Abia do not need to make any mistake of ceding the state to incompetent lazy characters again, although they’re parading themselves as opposition politicians, and even making attempt for a comeback, they are not fit to stand in any place of leadership in Abia anymore.” Said Comrade Njoku
“If you check at what we have executed in the state today as a functional government of the people, beginning from the soon to be commissioned Aba-Port Harcourt Road, Umuahia-Uzuakoli-Abiriba-Ohafia Road, the Light Up Abia project, the Abia Health Insurance Scheme, and so many other projects of the future that this government has accomplished you will agree with me that Labour Party is the best thing to happen to Abia State and should be encouraged to complete the business of improving the people’s lives, their welfare and environmental development that we have started.”
When asked on recent clashes of interest in the party, Mr. Njoku maintained that the party remained focused on retaining its position in the governance of the state and is not bothered about the Opposition’s distortion of political events in the state to confuse the innocent and ill-informed citizens.
“From the moment we won the 2023 gubernatorial election till date, Abia has become a Labour party enclave and shall remain so in the next donkey years, Although situations in the party may wear the similarities of a divided house, we have the capacity to salvage our differences and we are not relenting, “We are addressing those matters of interest that’ll keep us formidable as a winning party, and remain united in our resolve to sustain the rebuilding process we have begun in this God’s own state” said Comrade Njoku Jerry Ajike.
