In preparation for the 2024 Global Digital Trade Expo scheduled to take place in September in Hangzhou Municipal city, Zhejiang Province, Nigeria’s Ebeneri Chambers of Commerce and Industry, an Anambra State based institution of entrepreneurs are in top discussion with Hon. Maximus Ogbonna, China based resource person and Emeritus President of the Nigeria Community in China to lead a delegation of business and professional persons in the IT industry to participate in the 3rd Global Digital Trade Expo.
Speaking to the Director of International Cooperation, Ebeneri Chambers of Commerce, Mines, Industry and Agriculture Hon. Njoku Jerry A., also a former China Diaspora leader, Mr. Ogbonna expresses high hopes in projecting Nigeria’s growing digital industry to match with China’s growth in the field and encourages more Nigerian business men to expand their business frontiers in China to include the digital technology which is the future of import and export business ecosystem

Arising from a forum in Beijing on the 29th of July the China Minister of Industry and Information Technology Mr. Jin Zhuanglong declared that China will continue its collaboration in the digital field with African countries, and help them build a “digital Africa.”
Mr. Ogbonna encourages members of the Nigeria delegation planning to take part in the forthcoming expo to key into the Minister’s declaration and make good use of the event to establish themselves in the digital and electronics industry.
Mr. Jin had told the forum on digital cooperation between China and Africa that enterprises will be supported in pragmatic cooperation in such areas as mobile communication, data centers, and submarine and land cables.
Joint efforts will also be made to advance the development and application of digital technologies such as 5G, 6G, network security, high-performance computing and quantum communication, according to Jin.
The establishment of cooperative platforms for capacity building among enterprises, think tanks and universities will be encouraged, the minister added.
An action plan for the development of digital China-Africa cooperation was released during the forum, which was hosted by the China Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in Beijing.
