Umuahia, 8th June 2022; Two terms gubernatorial aspirant, Dr. Alex Otti has been declared sole candidate of Labour Party, Abia state in the 2023 general elections.
In the primaries adjudged free and fair, Dr. Alex Otti had polled 454 votes unopposed to be declared winner for the 2023 governorship elections.
The former Diamond Bank CEO and Businessman promised to restore Abia to its rightful position as center of commerce and industry where workers welfare will be included in his priority list.

In his acceptance speech; Dr. Otti assured the electorates that the abundant human and natural resources in Abia State would be applied in developing God’s own State, adding that there would be total transformation of Aba to boost the influx of national and international investors into Abia, under his leadership.

Alex Otti promises to establish accountability and stronger revenue drive, welfare of workers and pensions, security and provide for a working economy from the redundancy previous rulers of the state has subjected it to.

As an economist and core investor in areas of finance and business development with abundant experience, the rebuilding of business and environmental infrastructure in Abia will be on his priority list once he takes over the leadership of the state, He said.

 Also declared winners in the poll conducted using Option A4 mode, were a serving member of the House of Representatives for Isiala Ngwa North & South, Hon. Darlington Nwokocha, who was elected to contest for Abia Central Senatorial District, Mr. Ginger Onwusibe elected for the state House of Assembly to represent Isiala Ngwa North-South Federal Constituency and Chief Obi Aguocha as the candidate for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency.

Alex Otti, appreciated his party members and teeming supporters for giving him the mandate and declared that the days of youth unemployment and non-payment of workers’ salaries in Abia would be over once he resumes duty as the governor of the state in 2023.
Addressing party members after the victory, Otti promised to rescue Abia from those who have held the state hostage since 1999 giving Abia all kinds of negative tags.
