APC Tinubu balances the tripod candidature of Nigeria 2023 Elections

By Njoku SaintJerry A.

“Whether Nigerians will make the right choice or be guided by tribal and ethnic sentiments, hunger and poverty of the soul, the outcome of the 2023 Presidential election will determine the swing Nigeria goes.”

With Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of PDP, (Hausa) Peter Obi of Labour Party (IGBO) and now Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu of APC (YORUBA) emergence as respective Presidential candidates of their parties, the 2023 Nigeria Presidential election has gained its tripoidal significance as a battle between sustenance of Nigeria’s unity in diversity.

As the Muhammadu Buhari administration runs to a close, one remarkable achievement of the administration will be the exposure of the weak appendages holding the 3 major Nigeria ethnic groups together and the urgent need to restructure or let the power sharing formula represents this tripoidal existence of Nigeria.

Whether such counsel is of any relevance will be determined by the outcome of the Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba 2023 Presidential elections as represented by the 3 major political parties with the popular candidates of Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar and Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s popularity as ‘King Maker’ came into a spotlight when during his Abeokuta campaign tour, he had boasted of how he had single handedly made many governors from the South West region including the President whom he alleged that without him, General Muhammadu Buhari wouldn’t have emerged the President, therefore that singular magnanimity of patronage and godfatherism must be respected and reciprocated adequately.

Tinubu’s wishes has begun to get the green light as he clinches victory at the just concluded All Peoples Congress (APC) presidential rally, at Eagle Square, Abuja.
Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu had garnered half of the total votes to beat his major opponents, the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, and the former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi.
The former Lagos State Governor, and APC leader has been announced the winner of the All-Progressives Congress, APC, primary elections with about 2,322 delegates from across the country whom had crowded into the Eagles Square to elect the flag bearer of the party ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Whether Tinubu will live up to his long-held ambition of becoming Nigeria’s president will be determined by Nigerians as allegations of ‘inducement of delegates’ with thousands of US Dollars remain rife. However, Tinubu is not alone in the business of buying delegates with money in order to get their consents to enable you achieve your selfish ambition in life, regardless of your age, health status and future of the people and environment you would like to rule as a leader.

Nigerians, young and old has been exposed to so much hazards that should be able to serve as deterrents and red signals to the kind of individuals and groups you route for as leaders irrespective of party affiliations and financial inducement, However, when tribal sentiments, poverty, hunger and identity crisis of nationhood becomes a guiding factor on who you chose to lead you to another 4 to 8 years of Nigeria existence rather than common sense, legacy and antecedents, every Nigerian alive will live to enjoy the pains and blessings of wrong and wise choices.

Some has joined and will continue to join the Tinubu APC camp because it is alleged the man known as Jagaban of Lagos has a well-oiled reservoir and a cache of endless cash to throw around as long as he has his ambition fulfilled and this is the best time to take some cash off the man referred as ‘the owner of Lagos’ where over 4,000 fleet of rickety yellow buses, Okada, Keke and anything moving in the streets of Lagos remit proceeds to loyalists of the Jagaban of Lagos alongside other remittances both at the state level, private and among the various gang lords of Lagos controlling virtually every spot in Lagos unchallenged.

Others will join the Alhaji Atiku Abubakar PDP camp because it is alleged he will run a government of patronage, the “Chop I chop’ circle of affluence and few men and women of influence whom are certain to swell their bank account and increased the number of their oversea properties.

While the rest will throng to the Peter Obi of Labour Party probably because of his antecedents and legacy in government when he was a governor since he is not likened to sharing any free money or open a cache of ‘Chop I Chop’ party neither is he willing to groom some gangs of loyalists to do his bidding.
The truth remains; God has blessed Nigerians to be alive to make another golden choice from their previous experience of traumatic hardship, insecurity and extensive disunity propelled by the same people they elect to rule them.
Whether Nigerians will make the right choice or be guided by tribal and ethnic sentiments, hunger and poverty of the soul, the outcome of the 2023 Presidential election will determine the swing Nigeria goes.
