There is a WhatsApp video skit going viral of a young man vent his anger of frustrated citizenry upon Pastors and men in the service of the Church. In the video, he had called them criminals and fraudsters stealing from the poor and building mansions, buying private jets, living in luxury at the expense of the poor and building expensive schools even members of their church who contributed money to build the mega church and schools cannot send their kids to. He goes on to describe them as lazy individuals taking advantage at the frustrations of the ordinary citizenry in a society that lacks virtually every basic amenity that should by default provide basic support of life to the citizenry.
I replayed the video several times and I was able to draw inferences from his misplaced anger and confusion; Prayer does not grow the economy, prayer does not build factories, build roads and equip the hospitals, prayer does not bring good government. The servants of God according to the video has deceived the people for too long by making them to pray too many times in order to receive employment, receive healing and live a better life in their own country, he compared the activities of the pastors to the politicians who will never have enough of luxury but keep deceiving his people.
As would be expected, the video had already been flagged with too many forwards indicating possibly of hundreds of thousands of fwds while it continue to get many ‘likes and followers’ on all other social media platforms.
Sometime ago, a popular Nigerian clergy had scolded one among many pastors working in his organization for delivering below expectations in the services of his church and the entire social and print media went berserk calling him all sort of names in the negative. Bashing the man became a pastime to fan up members for ‘wannabe’ celebrities and to others, it was a time to test their popularity by hyping on the ills of the Pastor for mentioning money and complaining against ‘unproductivity’ by men under his watch.

The deliberate act of Self-deception
I have noticed the level of self-deceit and complicity among many church goers in Africa, I will not single out any country because I have found out the people share a common passion once there is a servant of God from Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya or even South Africa to be bashed and humiliated on the social media. What I found most disturbing is the disconnectedness and misplaced missiles fired by the same people who make use of these servants of God when they’re beaten spiritually, psychologically and physically by the same individuals they devote their strength to promote and defend their debased moral behaviors and indifference to the cause of humanity under whatsoever circumstances both ethnic and political.
Everyone wants a better life but once a pastor is involved in the quest he will become your fraudster and criminal that should be disgraced on the pages of social media, he should not wear wet looks shiny bailey’s shoes, he should not wear dappered blazer jackets, he should never dream to drive a Bentley car, should never live in any form of luxury not to mention owning a jet even if he has worked for it otherwise he will be fit for your kind of fraudsters and a thief.
Well, I have a word for you unfortunate souls harping on your ignorance of a misery beyond your understanding in all my over 40 years of church and getting involved in spiritual matters of the soul. Some men are called into the service of spiritual matters, some are appointed, some are trained to take up divine appointment in the service of religious institutions – and in all matters relating to the divinity and religious adherence – you must be guided on self-conviction or as a proselyte – in the absence of either of this you live in self-deceit and psychological torture of faith and belief until one day you overcome your boundaries.
The servants of God and the preachers you have made object of your careless pastime might appear the least of your problems until rescue will come your way like it did to couple of my old folks.
Back in Nigeria, the young men were fervent in their religious claims of adherence and repentance, it was evident in their countless days of prayers and fasting, street evangelism and all that claims of religiosity until one day an incidence happened; out of pure luck, both fellows found themselves overseas, one in the UK the other in China – I took a close watch, as both men in less than 2 years did a 360 degree volte-face against everything about a belief in any God, the one in UK became an atheist, even published a book while the one in China joined the street and became notorious. just less than 2 years after discovering they have been living in denial of true consciousness of themselves, all the prayer and fasting seized, and the true nature of that man emerged.
These are the people shouting and talking nasty against servants of God and many ignorant folks follows suit.

In the absence of the Pastors, consult your politicians and law makers
We are a product of our environment and as much as the nation continue to suffer under the yoke of disorganized policies in government by men and women who shout God, God, round the clock but commits heinous crimes against humanity by neglecting their own people and society, the people have only one recourse to solace in their continuous suffering and neglect and that is the servants of God who represents the people’s spiritual connectivity to their creator, without them you could as well resort to your deities and be comfortable with that and nobody will hold you to account but yourself.
In the heat and tumult of the economic and environmental crisis caused by your friends, uncles and shameless men and women in government, everyone runs to the church, the pastors, some with the intention that all their problems will be solved once he prays and lay hands on them and when solutions to your unending societal problem is not forth happening as you had anticipated, you join forces to attack the man you run to for your spiritual confusion.
You could have consulted your lawyer, your police or even members of your government whom you knew of a truth, most of these characters has contributed to many of your societal burdens and unfortunate environmental situation but you won’t and run to the church either.
Rarely, have I seen an atheist or the so called infidels condemning the servants of God, it is the same people who run to him all day and all night for prayers until their problems are solved and they suddenly become evangelists of destruction to the same men who has taken them through the rigors of spiritual exercise.
As much as I will not speak for any servant of God that choses to be doubled faced and forked tongue, serving God and Satan at the same time, they are rife in the society and trash talking about them wouldn’t make any difference unless you’ve got a score to settle with any of them, bringing it to the public to whip up sentiments only reveals your foolishness and ignorance – pastors are not spirits, they’re human and prone to errors too.
Religion and the politics of followership
The pastor is not your representative in government neither is he your careless dumb governor, if we send the pastors to jail, will that make you happy, will it solve your problem, matter of fact, there are possibilities you will be worse off.
Prayers from servants of God from various quarters has sustained this nation and continue to sustain the grace of Almighty God upon us all.
Has the Churches and many pastors contributed to any meaningful development, you know the truth and stop deceiving yourself, Many pastors and ministries has contributed immensely to the development of their society and the ordinary citizenry so much that the mainstream media controlled by Satan and your types will be too afraid to talk about.
If you belong to any denomination, there is every possibility of benefit as a genuine member of the organization – but when you go to the church to find every fault in your gullible nature, there is little or nothing you can get from the pastors other than fault finding. If you use the energy employed in attacking the pastors to attack your politicians, you might be in for a better solution to your predicament and bring solution to your underprivileged environmental situation.
