What used to be referred as PDP enclave has today been dismantled and overtaken by the new political tsunami sweeping across entire South East region.
PDP in Abia state has been eliminated to pave way for a political reset of characters and attitude towards the welfare of the people and economic development of the once famed South East industrial hub now stripped bare by political opportunists, hawks and vultures parading as political office holders whom for the past 20 years has held the state hostage not because they meant well or has any objective goal to accomplish but because, perhaps fate permits them to rob and deceive the citizenry for so long.
However, on the 18th March 2023, fate gave up on them and the peoples’ will prevailed over the satanic manipulation the party has exercised upon the people. As a matter of fact, Labour Party will be in the least of political parties to place a bet on by this time in 2022, that will be projected to lead the revolution that will unseat political strongholds in Abia state but as the popular dictum states’ “Voice of the people is the voice of God’ and the people found their voice in Labour Party with the entrance of the charismatic Alex Otti who has been engaged in a selfless courageous battle for the soul of Abia from the hands of fraudsters and those the Greek folk tale will describe as ‘idiots’ since 2015, 2019 and now 2023.
“This is not a time to relent, as an old fox that has mastered all forms of deception, the doctrine of inclusion though necessary should be carefully employed towards any member of defunct PDP government as they do not appear repentant in any manner but will rather lurk quietly in the corner perhaps to prey on any loophole to crawl back into government space to do nothing other than steal and destroy as a cultural trait “
Till date, residents and citizens of the South East state continues to celebrate a victory they have dedicated to Almighty God whom according to a statement by APC, Uche Ogah, former Minister of State for Mines and Industry, during a thanksgiving service with Alex Otti in Aba, he said; “The People’s faith would have been shaken if this mandate had been stolen as in previous times” but today God decided to grant victory to his people.
The Nigerian God factor prevailed. However, the people’s will and determination to eliminate the ruling PDP could not be overlooked, otherwise the failure would have also been attributed to as ‘the will of God” as in the case of the 25th February presidential election.
Political will belongs to the people and the grace of God gives them wisdom to chose right and defend justice. Abians chose to stand up en-masse against injustice even if it involves your brother and sister and God gave them victory. The same fate could befall Nigeria irrespective of ethnic or tribe and God will give them victory over the Robin Hood classic larceny that took place on the 25th of February leaving Nigerians in a continuous mourning and anguish till date.
The Abia political victory became even historic when the winners began to file in to the Umuahia INEC state headquarters to pick up their Return Certificate from the State governor-elect, Dr. Alex Otti and his Deputy governor-elect, Ikechukwu Emetu, 1 Senatorial seat held by Darlington Nwokocha leaving none to PDP, 5 Winners of the Federal House of Representatives leaving only 1 to APC held by Benjamin Kalu of Bende Constituency and 11 Winners of State House Assembly, leaving 10 to PDP and 1 to YPP – giving Labour Party a control of the Abia State House of Assembly, the Federal House of Representatives and the Executives.
This is a victory well deserved by Abians for all their prayers and cycle of fasting that brought people of all faith together to cry to God against the ruling PDP government led by Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu whom has brought Abia state to an all time low and ridicule.
In his acceptance speech, Dr. Alex Otti has promised not to disappoint the high expectations Abians has expressed towards his candidacy as this marks a beginning for the Abia that every citizens has always prayed and worked for.
This is not a time to relent, as an old fox that has mastered all forms of deception, the doctrine of inclusion though necessary should be carefully employed towards any member of defunct PDP government as they do not appear repentant in any manner but will rather lurk quietly in the corner perhaps to prey on any loophole to crawl back into government space to do nothing other than steal and destroy as a cultural trait they have imbibed during those locust years of waste of Abia state resources.
In the projected 8years of Alex Otti administration, LP will be focused on a complete reset of Abia state politics to reflect the discipline and commitment to people’s welfare that the doctrine of the party is built on. Rebuilding this lovely region of commerce and industry will be a priority and grooming men and women that will manage the wealth the Alex Otti LP administration is going to create is a duty that is incumbent upon every member of Labour Party to defend and that is what we are going to be busy doing.
