17th September 2022 heralds the beginning of the great change people of Abia state had long waited for as the emergence of Labour Party in Abia state continue to send strong signals to oppositions that has lay claim to the South East wanning industrial regions and home to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) whose antecedents has repeatedly brought untold hardship and disappointment to the citizenry.
Never had such a crowd as witnessed today converged in any political gathering in Umuahia since 1999 till date
Political campaign for the 2023 general elections will be declared open in the coming days but it appears the ‘Obidient Movement’, a new group of active political conscious young people cannot wait to notify the general public and most importantly those in powers in Abia state and Nigeria, who has systematically held the people in perpetual captivity that their time is over.

The mammoth crowd witnessed in the early hours of business day Saturday causing extensive traffic beginning from the Umuahia Tower enroute the busy Gate Junction marching towards Shoprite with divers banners of Labour Party and its candidates led by the Coalition for Peter Obi and Yusuf Datti (CPO) in company of various Pressure Groups supporting the candidacy of entire Labour Party in the coming elections indicates signs of a great future for people of Abia.
All over the country, young and middle aged men and women has continued to defy all odds to brace the storm and stand up tall against oppressive governance that has almost brought Nigeria to its knees in debts and loss of social relevance as virtually every sectors of the economy suffers abysmal setbacks.
Today, the people of Umuahia has defied the early morning showers to march out en-masse to the street to show solidarity to the Obidient Movement that is sweeping across Nigeria to remind the old breeds and greedy politicians that has held the nation in its throat stifling every form of progress that their time is up whether it is PDP, APC or any other groups aligned to the order of oppression and stealing the people’s collective welfare.
