Mr. Kelechi Chibueze Madugba of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) is poised to take over from current occupier of the seat in the forthcoming general election in 2023.
Speaking at the Headquarters of the party in Abuja during his picking of expression of interest and the nomination form. Mr. Madugba had harped on his grassroot popularity which has given him the leverage to know what the people and their community really want at all time.
“Let’s tell ourselves the truth; I understand how difficult it is to cope with all the hardship and balkanization of the system and laws of the land by a few individuals leaving a wide gap between the people and their representatives in government.”
“The truth is; we cannot continue like this both at the state level and most importantly at the federal level where the impact of a single wrong decisions is enough to destabilize the entire region,” This is the reason why I have taken it upon myself with the support from our people to take this one golden bold step to carry the people along in matters that affect them most. In Abia state, our struggles are real, how much more in our constituency, the entire region called Isialangwa North and South. Since the beginning of this democratic dispensation, the citizens have hoped for a system that works – quality representative at the federal level, accountable leadership and other basic requirements of a functioning state all to no avail.”
This does not mean that previous representatives has not been delivering their duties, the fact remains that if you are unfavorably disconnected from the grassroots, the people who are the direct beneficiaries of the position you occupy at the Federal House, tendencies are you might continue to put the cart before the horse thereby moving in circles of activity but actually taking the people to nowhere better than where you met them, This is what I am going to change and I am confident with God on our side we will achieve success. Kelechi Madugba, is the current CEO of GEMNKA company limited, a firm dealing on Oil & Gas, Import and Export of medical equipment and safety equipment. He has served as Interim Chairman for Labour Party Abia State (2016 – 2019) a former PDP Youth Leader (1999 – 2013) and Special Assistant to former Governor of Abia State (Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu) before his defection to the New Nigeria Peoples Party where he has high hopes to achieve his ultimate goal of representing the People of Isialangwa North and South at the Federal House of Representatives, Abuja.
