IPAC boss encourages IPOB members to obtain PVC in order to achieve success

“Whether you like it or not, the truth as of today is that the only instrument recognized by law in Nigeria for the conduct of any polls, be it general elections, referendum and or plebiscite is the PVC” – Ceekay Igara, Abia State IPC Chairman

The Chairman of Inter Party Advisory Council IPAC. the umbrella body of all registered political parties in Nigeria, and also the Chairman of Labour Party Abia State Chapter Hon. Ceekay Igara, has sent a passionate appeal to the leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB not to discourage nor restrain it’s members as well as the entire IGBOS from obtaining their permanent voters cards (PVCs) during this ongoing registration exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC. noting that doing so will prove to be counter productive to the actualization of the struggle in the near future.

He made the appeal against the backdrop of the widely held belief in many quarters that the IPOB top hierarchy are averse to its members participating in the exercise preferring Instead a referendum to any general elections.

In Hon Igara opinion, He reasoned that if the majority of the IGBOS who genuinely believe in the struggle for the actualization of the freedom of the Igbo Nation fail to obtain their PVCs now., reactionary forces will ultimately undermine the struggle when the referendum is finally called for, because the genuine agitators will be without the only instrument of voting in Nigeria which is the PVC.”

If majority of IGBOS refuse to obtain their PVCs now, it will definitely prove to be disastrous not only to the cause of IPOB, but also to the overall interest of the Igbo Nation in the near future.

Whether you like it or not, the truth as of today is that the only instrument recognized by law in Nigeria for the conduct of any polls, be it general elections, referendum and or plebiscite is the PVC.

You are not going to vote with your personal identity card and or passport, If majority of IGBOS refuse to obtain their PVCs now, it will definitely prove to be disastrous not only to the cause of IPOB, but also to the overall interest of the Igbo Nation in the near future.
The point is that if a referendum is eventually called and the genuine agitators don’t have the instrument of voting, then the reactionary forces will vote to defeat the struggle.
It is just simple. So one sure way the IPOB leadership will thread to keep the struggle alive is to encourage it’s members and the entire IGBOS to get their PVCs now so that they will not be caught napping.” the lPAC Chairman advised.

The point is that if a referendum is eventually called and the genuine agitators don’t have the instrument of voting, then the reactionary forces will vote to defeat the struggle.

Hon Igara further stated that similar actions taken in the past by the leadership of the Movement for The Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra MASOB remains a major precursor to the lopsided nature of the Revenue Sharing formula in the country which is clearly against the IGBOs owing to their near total boycott of the last census exercise in 2006 on the alleged directives of the then leadership of MASOB.
“You see, during the last census exercise in 2006 majority of IGBOS shunned the exercise on the alleged directives of MASOB. In the end other regions churned out millions of figures. And you know that one of the indices for the sharing of the Revenue of the country is population.

As of today owing to that decision to boycott the census the South Easterners are receiving far less Revenue than others despite their rich natural endowments.
We don’t want our people to be caught napping ones again. People should be encouraged to obtain their PVCs, in readiness for any developments.
For me , like l said earlier , encouraging our people to go for their PVCs now is a veritable way of giving impetus to the whole struggle for the total liberation of IGBOS.” Hon Igara noted

if the majority of the IGBOS who genuinely believe in the struggle for the actualization of the freedom of the Igbo Nation fail to obtain their PVCs now., reactionary forces will ultimately undermine the struggle when the referendum is finally called for

Furthermore, the IPAC boss, argued that with the serial leadership failure currently afflicting most states of the South East, especially Abia ,it will be absolutely wise for the people to be encouraged to obtain their PVCs so that collectively they can retrieve their states from the present corruption prone set of leaders. “It is not enough for people to be bemoaning the serial leadership failures in Abia State in particular and Nigeria in general only.

They should equally take practical steps towards effecting a change come 2023 general elections, by equipping themselves with the needed instrument of change which is the PVCs.” Hon Igara stated…..
