Nigeria; this is the tragedy of a nation ruled by sycophants and outlaws

Dangote didn’t cut ribbons when his refinery was 5% complete.

Tony Elumelu wouldn’t tolerate a UBA staff popping champagne at 4.5% progress on a project,  you’d be fired.

BUA would likely recommend a psychiatric evaluation if you submitted a self-appraisal claiming success at just 5% task completion.

Yet, these same business elites, shrewd, efficient, allergic to mediocrity in their private enterprises, show up to celebrate the 5% completion of a government road project.

In their own boardrooms, such under-performance would be met with consequences. But in public, they clap for it.

Collectively, the wealth of these three men exceeds half the Nigerian stock market.

They understand systems, excellence, and discipline; it’s what built their empires.

But in the public sector, mediocrity is not just tolerated; it’s applauded.

Not because they don’t know better, but because sycophancy to power protects their interests.

This is the tragedy of a nation filled with pretenders and hypocrites!

What can we say or do? Nothing. The more we look, the less we see. President Tinubu is manipulating the weaknesses of Nigerians to do as he pleases. Tinubu awarded a 730KM road to his friend and business associate (Chagorys)for a whooping sum N15 Trillion. In two years the company was able to construct 30 KM, which has been commissioned. Congratulations to Nigerians. It’s one of the achievements of president Tinubu in two years. Additional bragging rights.

The trick applied by President Bola Tinubu was for him to start from the Lagos end of the road in order to open up EKO ATLANTIC CITY, where Tinubu and his friends (the Chagoury’s) have huge investments. With only 30km of roads completed in two years, in 8 years, about 267km , less than half of the 730km will be done. The contractors haven’t even gotten to the most difficult terrain of Bayelsa and Rivers State, where long stretchof bridges will be built.
