Our father in the world (of politics) believes he’s next in line for the presidency of this country and as his compatriots have had their tastes of it, he too must, as a matter of necessity, lest he becomes labelled as once a master, without strategy. Little is he realizing the fact that, with current trends and great awakening of vibrant Nigerian youths, the era he is still looking at, ended peacefully, though shamefully, with the reigns of PMB.
Yes, we may sometimes want to blame ourselves the younger generation, for allowing PBAT get away with and steal into Aso Rock without resistance at the time he did, but a second thought would suggest that this is karma’s way of saying convincingly to our consciences: ‘let the people see reason for themselves’… Now we see, we believe, that people who do not know the difference between leadership and ‘politicking’ – men who have only all along carved out most of the ugly narratives that even many in our generation now buy into as norms in governance spaces, have long overstayed their welcome!
Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, must not fall to the temptation that lots of those envious of his personality and achievements want him to fall into by thinking himself a failed political leader if he does the right thing by not contesting in the next presidential election. Infact, it will serve as the last straw breaking the camel’s back if Baba graciously looks around and finally gallantly raises the hands of one, considered to resonate with the admiration and clamour by majority of the Nigerian people.
Once HE Atiku Abubakar in this coalition move, accepts and throws his weight in support of a Peter Gregory Obi for the 2027 presidency along with the backings of a majority of his supporters, posterity will not just honour him but in the hierarchy of regards and accomplishment by moral standards, none of his contemporaries shall ever compare to him.
By now, our political class ought to have understood the genuine concerns which have flooded whatever has to do with leadership in this country so far since 2020. Those who still look at the presidency as a court for the assemblage of a clique whose turn it is to aggrandize themselves into recklessly expending power and wealth of the nation just for the sake of it, in a school-styled cult with the C-in-C as capone, need to quickly wake up from their slumbers!
The era of classifying everything evil as politics – including blatant lying, looting and lazying about government places but still keeping straight faces and even wasting more monies paying stooges as PR/media/comm agents, has long expired.
The era we are in is one that looks forward to a country where we shall be having more comfortable countrymen than poor ones! A country where strong institutions are respected than strongmen – a reliable system built on rule of law, love and longevity!
Persons under contest/competition (like Baba Atiku) or those seeking vendetta (like Elrufai, Amaechi, Babachir etc) may never be able to see clearly enough to work us through this path…

Peter Obi is still in his sixties and still sane enough for such a high tasking job! Peter Obi is from the south and within rights to contest, given the unwritten but accepted paradigm of North-South leadership dichotomy currently in practice in Nigeria… The issues should not just in anyway revolve around the assumption of trying to satisfy anyone’s appetite of a “long term dream”, hence we rule out the bargaining chip with a one-term presidency condition attached to it. HE Peter Obi has been consistent with his resolve to work for the actualization of a NEW NIGERIA which largely resonates with a wide majority of countrymen. His political style is far different – teaching younger generations that there can truly be politics without bitterness; making it more attractive to us than the “dirty game” mantra that has been sung down the heart of our eardrums over decades.
This is the man we want! This is the only man who can still get majority of Nigerians go to the polls even if the call were to be made today, not withstanding the other shenanigans around our electoral systems even till date. He is currently the only one that has earned the trust of majority apolitical Nigerians across ethnic and religious divides, who he will be sure to make him be on his toes, once given the mantle, knowing fully well that his fall may be great once the people whose back he rides on, turn their back on him. Peter Obi is the man, if you really need the Asiwaju’s reign to be brought to an end! He has the followership, he has the template and vibes… Give this to him!
