Spokesperson and Publicity Secretary of Labour Party, Abia State Chapter, Comrade Njoku Jerry Ajike has urged members of the party to stand up to the challenges of the political season as the State warm up to the forthcoming LG elections.
Speaking to Journalists during a courtesy call, Mr. NJOKU spoke tough to those he referred to as detractors to the development process the ruling party has established in the state.
In his own statement, Mr. Njoku said:
“I want every member and supporters of our great party to keep hope alive and be courageous to defend the victory almighty God through his blessed people has given us right here in Abia State, it was not a coincidence rather it is a planned and deliberate victory delivered to the people of God in this God’s own State, therefore we cannot afford to take it for granted and allow any form of slip.”
“To clarify our position on those hopping around the social media platforms deceiving the unsuspecting members of the public under the guise of opposition, We make it clear that, they have not shown us any signs or mark of opposition rather they resort to mudslinging, propaganda of falsehood and outright deception, they do that because they have nothing to offer so they find sport in gossiping and causing distraction to the hard working Labour Party Government of Gov. Alex Otti in Abia State”
“What they’re doing through their e-rats, is a clear admittance that they do not stand any chance of even the least political position as a Councilor in any part of the State therefore they choose to smear dirt everywhere. That is a known attributes of people of weak character and loose morals.”
“I maintain that the era of PDP in Abia state is dead and buried and I will advise those aligning forces with whatsoever is left in the party under the guise of alliance to reconsider their options…it is a grave option because nobody in the New Abia who has tasted the good things Gov Alex Otti is doing under the labour party platform will want to lose it to fairytale promises and miss such a great opportunity almighty God himself had brought upon us in this great center of commerce and Industry.
Recently the governor announced the soon commencement of the Greater Ohafia Development Authority (GODA) expanding economic and infrastructure development to the entire Abia North beginning from Ohafia, before that, there have been the Greater Aba Development Authority (GADA) and Umuahia Capital Development Authority (UCDA) these are all regional development templates designed by our leader the governor of the state to expand the great strides of development currently ongoing in the state to the hinterlands, therefore, tell me, who will see all these lofty plans in place and will have the time to engage detractors under whatever nomenclature they adorn themselves with and I would like to know, on what grounds are those making noise against this great leader of our time are banking their lies and propaganda on, monkey gimmicks and folktales!” that is what they have been engaged in recently”
“I am very pleased to announce to us that The coming LG elections is entirely a grassroots affair and as you can see, pictures don’t lie, what the Alex Otti government have done to break that chain of shame and backwardness the PDP government left of the state is very visible and evidence for all to judge between the darkness and criminality of yesterday by these infants in adult body and the light and leadership with conscience evident and made possible by God’s chosen servant Governor Dr. Alex Otti”
The image maker was asked to speak on the alleged imposition of candidates in the forthcoming LG elections by the leadership of the party and the recent video of Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives Hon Benjamin Kalu making claims of APC taking over Abia State in the coming elections and he responded;
“First of all, let me make it clear that, there is nothing like that, this is the people’s party, everyone here is a stakeholder, certainly some may have staked more than the others but that is not a guarantee that candidates or intending applicants to any elective position must override the democratic norms that is sustaining the party.”
“More so, at the appropriate time, announcement will be made and sale of forms will commence, the field is large enough to accommodate every player that considers himself or herself viable and competent to lead but on one condition; that the intending individual is willing to toe the line of Gov. Alex Otti’s development strides and fiscal discipline, and commitment to purposeful leadership.”
“Now regarding what you just said of the Deputy Speaker, Federal House Of Rep Hon Ben Kalu’s claim and APC taking over Abia in 2027, that is his opinion and it should not call for a debate or fears but by reason of his position in that ruling party at the center, there’s the tendency for people to feel threatened, however let me it clear and simple for all to understand,
“With due respect Hon. Benjamin Kalu was the spokesperson of the Federal House of Rep. before his election or appointment as the Deputy Speaker, and I won’t be surprised if he still consider himself in that capacity of talking to impress his Party.”
“This is not the Abia he used to know, I am sure many of you journalists and visitors to Abia especially those of you from Lagos and Abuja could attest to this fact.”

Nigerians are still reeling under the pains and hardship unleashed upon them by the APC as a party and their awkward policies that are certain to continue to sink the nation down to infamy. Is that what Hon, Benjamin Kalu is trying to introduce to Abia?, I doubt he has spent a month here since his sojourn to Abuja, at the appropriate time, even those hailing his “sweet talk of APC winning Abia’ will desert him for those that are laying the foundation for the New Abia of our hope and a brighter future.” We in Labour party are engaged in the rebuilding of this great home of God’s people and until that is completed, No amount of deception and sweet talking will buoy the people any longer.”
“I repeat, let every member and supporters of Labour Party in Abia state who is enjoying the good name of Abia today that is selling all over the world under the Labour Party government of Dr. Alex Otti continue to abide under the shadow of this great family of ‘Mama, Papa and Pikin’ until we have completely rebuilt this state to what Almighty God has made it to be”
