Ahead of the Edo 2024 gubernatorial elections, the National Chairman of the Labour Party, Barr. (Dr.) Julius Abure while addressing party leaders and members at the occasion of the Edo North Senatorial District Summit with the theme “THE EDO OF OUR DREAM” at Auchi the administrative headquarters of Etsako West LGA of Edo State reasured aspirants under the platform of the party and party leaders of a free, fair, and transparent process to pick the best that Edo people will be proud of. He said the signs are everywhere that Edo is up for Labour Party to grab but if we don’t do it well we will miss it. “Free fair and transparent process that all aspirants will be proud of is a must for the leadership of the party to do”.
The National Chairman use the occasion to advise all aspirants present not entertain any fear and shun the rumors that the party has already endorsed a particular candidate or the primaries is going to be hijacked by money bags, he encouraged all aspirants to go about their normal campaigns to party members in the various LGAs and wards.
Speaking to the mammoth crowd he said, “you are the people to choose for us who will fly the ticket of our great part to Osadebe Avenue.
He equally commended the organizers of the summit and the good people of Edo North for their foresight in organizing the program. He said “your Labour and financial sacrifices you are putting into this work will not go unnoticed”. The array of dignitaries present at the occasion from all segments including traditional ruler, the clergies, captains of industries, opinion leaders, women and youths across the length and breathe of Edo North is a proof that LP is taking over the Senatorial District.
The State Chairman, distinguished Comrade Kelly Ogboi IION, FCIA on his part said that the State is doing so much to reposition the party for the expected victory ahead and thus advised members to key into the ongoing reforms.
The Edo North Senatorial leader of the party, Amb. Chris Ighodaro on behalf of his people thanked both National Chairman and the State Chairman for giving them the opportunity to serve the party. He promised that they will do more to deliver the Senatorial District LP come 2024.
The program climaxed with wards for the National Chairman, the State Chairman and some party faithfuls as a recognition for their selfless efforts.
