Methodist Church Nigeria, honors Mrs Rose Chinagorom Igwe

There is no higher religion than service to humanity, in recognizing the humanity of our fellow beings, we pay ourselves the highest tribute

Mrs Chinagorom Rose Luke Igwe has paid the highest tribute to humanity for her exemplary service to God, the society and humanity.
From a humble beginning in her community and local parish where she has served as a Sunday school teacher at All Saints Methodist Church Umuohu Azueke and played various leadership roles in the women wing of the Church.

The Methodist Church of Nigeria, Umuahia Diocese identifies her as a woman of valour worthy of honour and decided to confer on her with the revered title of “Nneoma Award” on the 24th November 2023, scheduled to take place at Wesley Cathedral, Umuagwo, Umuahia

Born into the family of Late Mr & Mrs Frank Ugochukwu Agwu of Amabia Ugwu Nkpa in Bende L.G.A of Abia State in the year 1952, She attended school up to standard six in the year 1959 to 1960 at St. Clement School UmudiobiaAsa, in Ukwa L.G.A, Abia State. After her primary education, she moved to Awomamma for her secondary school, but due to the Nigeria-Biafra Civil War, she could not continue with her secondary education.

Mrs Chinagorom Rose Luke Igwe is a devoted member of Christ Methodist Church World Bank, Umuahia Diocese and also a great pillar of support at her home church Zion Methodist Church Ovum Ugwu Nkpa in Bende L.G.A.
She has contributed immensely in the Church projects both at her home church and her place of worship in Umuahia, such that made the World Bank Women Fellowship to confer on her with the award of Diamond Mother of the year 2022.

A strong member of the Women Wing of Christian Council of Nigeria (WOWICCN) Abia State Chapter, Madam Chinagorom Rose Luke Igwe also served as financial secretary, UgwuNkpa Women Wing Umuahia Branch where she faithfully discharged her duty with the fear of God. She takes pleasure in the welfare of the Ministers of God in all her places of worship.

Madam Chinagorom Rose Luke Igwe has served as a Sunday school teacher at All Saints Methodist Church Umuohu Azueke and remained a role model both to the young and elderly women for her philanthropy, honesty and pacesetter roles in all her endeavours.

The great teacher, Martin Luther King Jr said; “Make a career of humanity. Commit yourself to the noble struggle for equal rights. You will make a better person of yourself, a greater nation of your country, and a finer world to live in.”
Madam Chinagorom Rose Luke Igwe certainly has made a better person of herself by committing to humane services for the good of her community, the church and Nigeria as a whole, as a woman of valour, honor and virtue and this day the  Methodist Church of Nigeria, Umuahia Diocese consider her worthy to be conferred the “Nneoma Award”

Madam Chinagorom Rose Luke Igwe is married to Mr Luke Onyenwe Igwe of Ovum Uguwu Nkpa,  a teacher and the marriage is blessed with seven lovely and amiable children of 3 male and 4 female.

The family, friends and well wishers is joining the humble elderly woman of God to grace this honorary occasion and is using the opportunity to thank Almighty God for giving her the strength and courage to work and arrived this far in life
