A group named Diaspora Abia state and South East indigenes in Asia led by former Nigeria Community President Mr. Maximum Ikenna Ogbona has lend its support to the Abia state Labour Party gubernatorial candidate Dr. Alex Otti in the coming 2023 general elections.
Responding to a telephone interview granted from its China headquarters, Mr. Ogbonna who doubles as CEO Maison Co, Ltd spoke extensively on the activities and participation of the Diaspora group in the coming 2023 general elections to make sure Nigeria elects the right leadership that will see the nation and its people leap to desired socio-economic expectations

Mr. Maximum Ikenna Ogbona, President Emeritus, Nigeria Community in China, Guangzhou

I want to make sure the man occupying the number one office of where all decisions bothering on governance are made is credible, prepared for the challenges of his office, development conscious and possesses the competency required in that level of leadership and not a man enjoying the privileges of political loyalty of a group of individuals of selfish interest,

Responding to why has the group opted for Alex Otti among the other gubernatorial candidate in Abia State? Mr. Ogbonna replied; When Nigeria in Diaspora Organisation (NIDO) was established in 2001, one of the major expectations by the Nigeria government from the Diaspora group was to create a database of Nigeria professionals, talents and skills abroad where the central and state government could tap from their rich resources, ideas and linkages in a manner that will contribute to a sound national development. In other words,  if I am bringing my ideas and hard earned resources abroad into my home land or this nation, I want to make sure that the man at the helm of affairs is someone who
I can have confidence in when it comes to managing the resources and affairs of the state entrusted in his care, I want to make sure the man occupying the number one office of where all decisions bothering on governance are made is credible, prepared for the challenges of his office, development conscious and possesses the competency required in that level of leadership and not a man enjoying the privileges of political loyalty of a group of individuals of selfish interest,, ethnic or tribal affinity.

Why should a city like Aba be left to rotten, a money spinner city with a boisterous population of active workforce and budding entrepreneurs. Such region cannot afford to miss a man like Alex Otti who has left a very remarkable legacy in wealth creations, industry and prudent fiscal administration in all his years of experience in the corporate world.

Our group by every implication encompasses professionals from virtually all sectors of government, health, commerce & trade, education and technology, the media and entertainment, some are already on ground and very active in the local politics while some of us are here playing active support roles to both the candidacy of Alex Otti and the electorates.

Fact remains that many Nigeria politicians in government are mere privileged individuals enjoying patronage by mere political loyalty or ethnic affinity, the painful aspect is that many of them have no ideas of a fast developing world of technology innovation, if not why should a city like Aba be left to rotten, a money spinner city with a boisterous population of active workforce and budding entrepreneurs. Such region cannot afford to miss a man like Alex Otti who has left a very remarkable legacy in wealth creations, industry and prudent fiscal administration in all his years of experience in the corporate world.

Mr. Njoku Jeremiah Ajike, Abia State Publicity Secretary, Labour Party, former spokesperson Nigeria community in CHINA, Beijing

Only a man who understands the principle of wealth creation will fit into the kind of leadership Abia desires and not political loyalists seeking for avenues for cheap fame without morals and responsibility to the people.

Speaking to the Abia State Publicity Secretary of Labour Party, Mr. Njoku Jeremiah Ajike, also a former Diaspora leader and spokesperson, Nigeria community in China now actively engaged in local politics,
Mr. Njoku explained the basis of the overwhelming support and endorsement enjoyed by the Labour party gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Alex Otti.

“Abia state has lost so much in economic value and resources due to long years of experimental leadership occasioned by loyalty to political party and not responsibility to the people and their homeland.” I am a member of the Diaspora community who took the pains of abandoning the luxuries of overseas to join forces with men genuinely prepared for the development of homeland for the benefit of all and a shared wealth, during our formative years, it did not take us any seer to find out that Alex Otti fits in the criteria of leaders we would like to work with. Said Mr. Njoku

“As a member of the Diaspora Group, prior to the 2019 Covid19 crisis, we have embarked on several investment explorations in Asia for the benefit of our people and homeland, for those of us based in China, our language is commerce, trade and investment. Only a man who understands the principle of wealth creation will fit into the kind of leadership Abia desires and not political loyalists seeking for avenues for cheap fame without morals and responsibility to the people.

“as Disapora group, we will be bringing expertise in the manufacturing sector, which Abia state is famed for, we will be bringing dependable investors to join hands with the government of Alex Otti in revamping the industrial economy of Aba, we will be reviving the hospitality industry like hotels and entertainment centers, already we are in discussion with our Asian business partners who have indicated interest in the abandoned and ghost haunted Enyimba Hotels and so many of such abandoned infrastructures

If I should speak in my capacity as a former China based Diaspora leader and now as a party man, we want to be among the generations of Diaspora Abia state indigenes that took the lead in campaigning for a constructive change in the leadership and development of Abia State that is not based on party loyalty but character, competence and the capacity to lead

Speaking on the coming governorship elections, Mr. Njoku said, the election period has provided a wonderful opportunity for people of Abia state who are genuinely appalled at the state of infrastructure decay and environmental neglect caused by poor leadership choices to stand up and join forces with Alex Otti to fix things right.

“As a party, we are confident in victory in the coming elections and as Disapora group, we will be bringing expertise in the manufacturing sector, which Abia state is famed for, we will be bringing investors to join hands with the government of Alex Otti in revamping the industrial economy of Aba, we will be reviving the hospitality industry like hotels and entertainment centers, already we are in discussion with our Asian business partners who have indicated interest in the abandoned and ghost haunted Enyimba Hotels and so many of such abandoned infrastructures.” He said.
With a man like Alex Otti who is investment and industry conscious we will replicate China in Abia state and that is our major concern in the coming election.

As Diaspora group, aligning forces with a man like Alex Otti could help Abia state recoup billions of money lost over the years due to reckless leadership of party loyalty and we sure have the capacity to source for such credible partnership.

Our state development outline bothers on trade, investment, manufacturing and media, technology and ICT, we will be transferring skill and create provision for the youth in the state to invest their talent and energy in gainful acquisition of technical knowledge through objective exchange programmes – we are already in discussion with various manufacturing industries in China of our scheduled industrial exchange programmes.
As Diaspora group, aligning forces with a man like Alex Otti could help Abia state recoup billions of money lost over the years due to reckless leadership of party loyalty and we sure have the capacity to source for such credible partnership. Our problem is management and irresponsible leadership and that is what a man in the pedigree of Alex Otti is prepared to eradicate in Abia State.
