“Having braced the first storm of rejection and acceptance and internal party manipulations, Mr. Uwa only has time and chance to lead the region to its political relevance.”

Etigwe Uwa (SAN), is among the first Ohafia politician to walk tall and bold to pick the expression of interest and nomination form under the All-Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA to vie for the gubernatorial seat of Abia state.
For the first time since the birth of home to Enyimba city, the Ohafia bloc under Abia North senatorial region has braced up courage and the political will to walk away from always playing second fiddle and support group to demand for recognition and respect.

Known for its historic warrior stance – Etigwe and his numerous supporters across Abia state received a rude shock when on the eve of April 2022 he was summoned with the news of his disqualification as gubernatorial aspirant under APGA after having successfully obtained the form and duly paid the stipulated fees.
The legal luminary without giving a flinch or creating unwarranted media attention quietly flew to Abuja and filed an appeal and in less than a month he emerged victorious to retain his number one position in the list of successfully screened and cleared gubernatorial aspirants under APGA.
The party admitted, the legal luminary was erroneously disqualified by the party’s screening panel and that error was rectified on the 11th of May in a victorious judgement given in favour of the Ohafia born politician.

“The south east center of industry and commerce has never had a fair share of leadership since inception as it has continue to take an adverse descent as one of the least developed state in the South East with poor leadership structure

Of all 3 the Senatorial districts in Abia state and under the unwritten equity Charter in zoning of power blocs in Abia state, Abia North is favored to produce the next governor of the frontline South East State, while within the Abia North Senatorial district, the Ohafia political bloc appears the most relegated in politics of the state since inception of the state in August 1991.
For the first time in the over 2 decades of the state creation, the Ohafia bloc has braced up to taste the deep waters of Abia state politics and to establish its position as strong force to contend with among other aspiring regions within the Abia North senatorial district.

The south east center of industry and commerce has never had a fair share of leadership since inception as it has continue to take an adverse descent as one of the least developed state in the South East with poor leadership structure and infrastructure development despite its huge potentials for industry and an active workforce that can drive its IGR to match with Lagos state, another center of commerce in the South West.

“I have a plan for Abia”, said Etigwe Uwa as he celebrates his first taste of victory in the race and the first thing, I would like to say is that Abia is blessed with huge resources. The entrepreneurial power in Abia is so much. What Abia needs is leadership that will harness the resources of the state and turn the state into one of the greatest economies in Nigeria, perhaps in west Africa.” He said.

Etigwe Uwa stands tall among other contenders of Ohafia political bloc also vying for same position with the likes of Ceekay Igara of Labour Party, Ukpai Iro Ukpai of APC, Kalu Ijoma Uke of NRM and others, having braced the first storm of rejection and acceptance and internal party manipulations, Mr. Uwa only has time and chance to lead the region to its political relevance.
