MAC-ADA PEACE AND DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION (PUP) write this open letter, in favour of Peace, Unity and Progress, for enduring unity amongst the citizens,
It is high time that we move beyond just talking on social media, print and electronic media, to physically embracee those structures that help in implanting the necessary values that will secure the peace and unity so much desired in Nigeria.
It is important at this point and in view of our present situation to understand that the philosophy of non-violence, the notion of selfless service, the idea of human worth and the virtues of forgiveness are critical success factors in making peace and unity possible.
Nigerian leaders and its political elites need to urgently rise up and demonstrate good leadership, setting aside every resemblance of unforgiveness, Inequality, non fairness, ethnic and religious divisiveness in a positive display of good leadership.
In view of the current conflict and crisis in the country among other isolated minorities, the time to facilitate advanced Conflict resolution measures is very imminent rather than shying away from core social responsibilities that undermine the safety and security of citizens.
MAC-ADA PEACE & DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION(PUP) as a non-partisan, non-governmental, non secretarian, non political, and non sectionalist organization have taken up the responsibility to spearhead this call for peaceful coexistence of every Nigerian of all tribe and ethnic nationality with our message of Peace, Unity and Progress for the general good and Development of Nigeria.
We are therefore using this medium to call on all peace-loving Nigerians as well as those nursing some form of hurt to please sheath their swords, put down their weapons and give peace a chance as we mourn the many lives which have been lost in the unfortunate rivalry.
We call on our government, political leaders, traditional leaders, Youth Leaders, religious leaders and Pressure groups to equally give peace a chance by using their offices to support Peace Building in the society, spreading the message of Peace to their followers. We have no other country than this Nigeria.
