“The group says Tinubu gave INEC fake certificates from Chicago State University and a fake NYSC certificate during the 2023 elections. They also claim he did not attend Government College Lagos as he said, because the school started in 1974”
A group called the Centre for Reform and Public Advocacy (CFRPA) has filed a new case at the Federal High Court in Kano (Case Number: FHC/K/CS/312/2026).
They want the court to stop President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from running in the 2027 presidential election.
The group says Tinubu gave INEC fake certificates from Chicago State University and a fake NYSC certificate during the 2023 elections. They also claim he did not attend Government College Lagos as he said, because the school started in 1974 — after the year he claimed to have finished.
The case names Tinubu, INEC, and Chicago State University as defendants. They are asking the court to:
– Declare the certificates as forged
– Disqualify Tinubu from the 2027 election
– Order Chicago State University to remove his name from their records
– Stop INEC from accepting him as a candidate
This suit comes after the group sent letters to INEC and NYSC on June 19, 2026, raising the same issues.
The court is now handling the case. All claims still need to be proven in court.
