From Abia, Edo, Oyo and Ogun State, Nigerians rises up enmasse to confront the menacing Fulani terrorists moving down from the North region to Southern Nigeria rampaging entire communities kidnapping and killing innocent citizens for ransom
From the recent ransack of Fulani enclave in Abia State and the successful rescue of victims in their custody to the foiled attempt and arrest of several bandits traveling across Uromi in Edo State where their truck was intercepted with arms and ammunition hidden among sacks of food items to recent visit of Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Igboho to the Fulani Communities in Oyo to demand the rescue of victims in the custody of the terrorists within 48 hours, Nigerians appears to have woken up to stand tall and challenge the marauding aliens under the guise of Fulani indigenous people.
This is a welcome development as the actions of ordinary Nigerians seems to have encouraged the Police to show sincere responsibility to the citizenry rather than the alleged paid lip service to the herculean and hydra-headed security situations in the country.
Just yesterday, the Ogun State Police command was said to have killed Two Suspected Kidnappers, Rescued Victim, and Recover about ₦2.2 Million Ransom in the custody of the terrorists.
The Ogun State Police Command on this note has recorded a major breakthrough in the fight against kidnapping and violent crime in that region, successfully neutralizing two suspected kidnappers, rescuing an abducted victim unharmed, and recovering ₦2.2 million believed to be ransom proceeds, therefore Nigerians will appreciate if other Police commands will join forces with the local vigilantes and youth groups to deal with this security menace headlong and not release terrorists to any Politicians under the guise of rehabilitation.
According to the statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the operation was carried out by the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit following an intensive investigation into the abduction of a resident of Ogbe Village in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area.
The victim was reportedly kidnapped on June 11, 2026, by a criminal syndicate operating within the area. Following the incident, the Anti-Kidnapping Unit launched a coordinated operation involving intelligence gathering, technical tracking, and strategic surveillance aimed at locating both the victim and the perpetrators.
The sustained pressure mounted by security operatives eventually forced the kidnappers to release the victim unharmed on June 18, 2026.
Rather than ending the operation at that point, police investigators continued their pursuit of the criminal gang, tracking them to a hideout believed to be deep within a forested area.
Police operatives reportedly stormed the hideout in a carefully planned operation. However, upon sighting the security team, the suspects allegedly opened fire in a bid to evade arrest.
A fierce exchange of gunfire ensued, during which two members of the gang were fatally wounded. Several other suspects escaped into nearby forests with gunshot injuries.
Security agencies have since intensified efforts to track down and apprehend the fleeing members of the syndicate.
Following the operation, a search of the hideout led to the recovery of several exhibits, including:
₦2.2 million in cash suspected to be ransom proceeds.
One single-barrel firearm.
One expended cartridge.
One mobile phone believed to be linked to the criminal operation.
The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Bode Ojajuni, commended officers of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit for their courage, professionalism, and dedication during the operation.
He reiterated the command’s commitment to maintaining a zero-tolerance policy against kidnapping, armed robbery, and other violent crimes across the state.
The commissioner further assured residents that the police remain fully committed to protecting lives and property while ensuring that criminal elements find no safe haven within Ogun State.
Investigations are ongoing as authorities intensify the manhunt for the remaining gang members who escaped during the operation.
