Anambra is dirty, shamefully disorgnaised and ridiculed under Gov. Prof Soludo

I’m not a fan of the Governor of Anambra State, and I’d like to keep it that way . However, I’m increasingly disturbed by the reactions of Nigerians, particularly Anambra people, to bad leadership. A docile community is a breeding ground for bad governance. It’s baffling to see people criticizing the governor’s son while ignoring the governor’s shameful leadership and governance style.

The governor is arguably the most irresponsible leader Anambra State has ever had. Despite being one of Nigeria’s richest states, with over 3,000 billionaires and 8 trillionaires, Anambra lags behind in development. The governor could’ve leveraged these resources to improve transportation (e.g., small train intercity models) and energy (24/7 electricity to drive industrialization). Instead, he’s emulating the wasteful patterns of some Northern States’ governors.

It’s disappointing that Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, a supposedly brilliant academic, seems to be failing his people. One would expect him to learn from neighboring states like Abia, Enugu, and Imo, which are making strides in development.

Take for instance, If you are driving down to the South East, coming from Lagos, the first point of call is Anambra State beginning from the Onitsha head bridge diving to Upper Iweka, if you’re driving in by night, what welcomes you is total darkness, despite such imposing tourist attraction that the over 5 decades old bridge poses, Governor Soludo did not see any reason to beautify the entrance bridge to his homeland, not to mention taking good care of the age old facility that gives Anambra State a distinctive outlook once you sight the bridge leading to homeland of people of the 5 major South Eastern States.

Driving in and out of the Chaotic and dilapidated, dirty Onitsha River Niger Bridge

The bridge is dirty from the beginning to the end, never maintained and welcomes you to chaos into Anambra State, sometimes you wonder what in the name of politics would a Professor and ex governor of Central bank be doing in such a dirty disorganized environment.
More so and unfortunately too, this same bridge and entrance into the South East was well maintained with neon light at both corners of the bridge and cleaned up drainage systems driving inwards into the state under previous administration of Mr. Peter Obi and Mr. Willie Obiano.

Nevertheless, rather than take extra measures in putting his environment in order, organize his people to clean up the dirt and beautify his homeland, create a welcoming façade that at least will compensate for his Professorship and technocrat in government, Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has been actively engaged in disrupting the activities of spiritualists and traditional worshipers whom he claimed are disrupting quality governance and exposing people in the region to criminal behaviors.

Please somebody should tell Prof Governor Chukwuma Soludo that cleanliness is next to godliness incase he has forgotten, and as long as the environment he governs and wield ultimate authority upon is very dirty, chaotic and defying every attempt to sanitize and clean up the dirt and refuse, beginning from the entrance to his homeland, the River Niger Bridge to Oba road and environs down to the popular Onitsha main market and the drainage system, every of his reform and long winded grammar on development amount to dirt and he is not any better than those spiritualist he had found pastime storming their dirty environment in a fit of showmanship to display ultimate authority to both man and the spirit.

Anambra is dirty and the best Prof Chukwuma Soludo could do is to clean up his state beginning from the entrance at the River Niger Head bridge to the exit at Ihiala, even Imo State and Abia State fared much better than the ever loquacious working Professor Governor of Anambra state who have found sport disrupting shrines and fighting his ancestors.,
