Labour Party Chieftain and Acting State Publicity Secretary Comrade Njoku Jerry Ajike has dispelled fears of a possible takeover of Abia State from the ruling Labour Party government under the leadership of the man he described as the People’s governor, and the redeemer of Abia from its dark days of infamy and under-development, .H.E. Alex Otti.
Comrade Njoku speaking from his country home in Ohafia told visiting friends and well wishers to go and sew uniforms for another celebration of victory that is certain by May 2027.
“We are going to repeat the victory of 2023, God be with us, there is no middle ground until we have completed the total reconstruction of the New Abia led by the People’s Governor Alex Otti.” He said.
The labour party has been riddled with internal leadership crisis with couple of cases in court challenging the constitutional provisions of the Caretaker committee and Congress elected leadership of the party, a situation opposition parties in the State are allegedly harping upon to manipulate a ‘takeover’ Mr. Njoku has described as “a thief through the window exercise” to steal the fortunes allegedly built by the Labour party under Alex Otti
Speaking on the inherent conflicts within the party and continuous complain of negligence and divisions within the ranks of leadership and members of the party, Comrade Njoku dismissed the idea of any feud destabilizing the gains and mileage the party has covered in the state.
“This is our government, we laid the foundation on which this government is standing upon, therefore I do not see anyone among us who will be so foolish or ignorant to allow this government to fail. The presence of Labour Party in Abia State today is ordained by God, that is why you see all the good things happening here because the hand of God is upon our leader the governor to rescue Abia from the grip of demons in human skins parading as oppositional political figures”
‘We will not leave until we have completed the total reconstruction of Abia State to what Almighty God has originally made it to be, let the people take note,” As per regarding to what we are doing to bring every of our members on board and harmonise the ranks and file of leadership of the party, it is not for the public consumption, We are working very hard behind doors to right our wrongs and come out stronger, Please take note of that.” Said Comrade Njoku.
As preparation for another electoral year is underway with the ongoing registration and update of membership register of political parties and the early threat made by leaders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) to take over Abia from the ruling party in the next election, Comrade Njoku sternly issued a statement he has described as “The New Testament” of political activities in the New Abia quoting from the book of Proverbs Chapter 1 verse 17; and it says;
“In Vain is the net spread in the sight of any bird.”
Comrade Njoku said; “I do not understand how any politician of the old stock in Abia will think the people here will be so gullible to fall into a trap they know too well, the trap of bags of rice, noodles, t-shirt and some naira notes to share, in the name of campaigning, just to deceive the people and come back to steal their money, taking Abia state back to its dark days of dirt and underdevelopment, The bible said, those who take thought of such wickedness will fail, they will fall into their own trap of shame, filth and backwardness, we the ordinary people of Abia will disgrace them and I mean it.” Said Comrade Njoku

“I am very certain they are merely comfortable in playing politics, the politics of stomach infrastructure and deception that nearly destroyed this wonderful home of God’s people before the emergence of Governor Alex Otti under the platform of our great party.”
First, let me correct an impression, as much as this is political contest and we do not undermine the strength of any political party and the contestant, we are not disturbed by APC or any other political party participation in the coming contest of 2027 general elections, We are certain of victory, More so, Governor Alex Otti in Labour Party is a sure win, you can take that to the bank.”
“Nevertheless, we are not taking that for granted but leveraging on the achievement the party has made as the party that brought the delivery of Abia from its dark days of infamy and underdevelopment.” Said comrade Njoku
“This is the only political party in Nigeria that gives precedence to the ordinary people to participate in the governance of their own land, the evidence is in the constitution of the leadership of the party and the model governance that is seen here in Abia State, this is the only practicable people-oriented governance that is not a mere offer of political rhetoric” but genuinely interested in the welfare of the ordinary citizen and committed to the overall development of our environment for a complete economic success.”
“This is a government that is deliberate in its plans to rebuild from the ruins previous career politicians has left of the state and not to continue in the politics of deception that the average member of the old order was used to”
“Then, to imagine such members of the old flock that held Abia captives and allegedly stole from the people’s collective welfare for decades are positioning for a comeback, I would not say that is impossible but how they are going to achieve that is likened to a chase after the wind or like I had said earlier, a trap set in vain in the sight of the bird while its watching, because I do not understand what other trick, or gimmick or political grandstanding Abia people has not seen before Almighty God decided to come for our rescue through the quality and responsible governance introduced by Governor Alex Otti under the platform of our great party.
“Finally take this message of hope to the people that Abia’s dark days are over, the sufferings, shame and frustration that was brought upon this God’s own state by those agents of Satan will never happen again and I am standing by my words as it applies to the feelings of every responsible citizens of Abia.”
