“We cannot afford to leave Abia to the vultures and scavengers, those who take relish in feeding on the carcass of the former old dirty Abia and those that are cashing out on the acclaimed crisis within the party to fuel their greed and ignorance, there is no mountain we cannot climb as a people of God, there is no battle that we as a party of God’s people and a united group of Abians cannot overcome” – Njoku Jerry A.

With the recent widely pronounced endorsement of Governor Alex Otti (OFR) for a second term in office as Executive Governor of Abia state come 2027 by the Ukwa la Ngwa bloc of 9 LGA’s, out of 17 in the State, and the recent court pronouncement on the leadership of Labour party, removing the Julius Abure led group for Senator Nenadi Usman group, the baton of leadership in the ruling party, although still in the business of the courts is headed for another definitive moment.
As we approach another electoral year with the release of INEC timetable for the 2027 general elections, Labour party is faced with multiple challenges ranging from forging a united and formidable party to fielding credible candidates to continue the business of quality leadership the Alex Otti administration has introduced into the governance of a region once famed for its infrastructural decay, underdevelopment and poor leadership culture.
THE 30 MINUTE NAIJA MEAL PLANNER
While it appears internal leadership crisis is tearing the ruling party in Abia apart and posing a future that is dicey to predict, a Chieftain of the Party and Acting State Publicity Secretary of the ruling party Comrade Njoku Jerry Ajike has faulted and frowned at the media claim of splinter groups working for the opposition against the leadership of the Party in Abia State under Governor Alex Otti.
Mr. Njoku Jerry, answering questions posed by journalists at the venue of the civic reception by the Ukwa La Ngwa bloc in Aba made his position clear on the lingering impasse and the current position of events in the party;
“Do not quote me off context, Whatever statement I make is based on self conviction and I want it reported verbatim.” said Mr. Njoku
“There is no resident or visitors to Abia State who witnessed the past and the present situation in Abia today that would be foolish enough to go against the governor as the leader of the new Abia or condemn what the governor is doing for the good of the people.” THE 30 MINUTE NAIJA MEAL PLANNER
“ The reception you see here at Enyimba Stadium already is not only overwhelming to the organizers, even the visitors and critics who merely came to see the outcome are really shocked at the mammoth crowd that has come to receive Governor Otti as the ‘People’s Governor.”
Speaking on the civic reception hosted by the 9 LGA’s of the Ukwa la Ngwa community, Mr. Njoku said, “This stadium is built to contain 15,000 guests in one sitting but from what we see here, the crowd is already more than 15,000 and spilling over, this is in addition to the November 2025 reception by the Old Bende communities or people of Abia North comprising of 5 LGA’s then followed by the Abiriba community in Aba and more coming.”
Mr. Njoku maintained that, “The governor has earned his flowers and it is only honorary and commendable that we give it to him, He said.
“The governor H.E Alex Otti has served the people of Abia creditably and meritoriously too, Therefore, trust the people to reward him bountifully as the occasion calls, the mammoth crowd in Enyimba Stadium during the Ukwa la Ngwa ceremony is just one example of what is coming ahead.”
Speaking on the current situation of Labour Party in Abia, Mr. Njoku said; “In Labour party, the people and their environment is our priority and it is evident in our logo of ‘family and the engine wheel of labour.”
“It is the family that sustains the wheel of labour and economic progress and as long as you invest quality time and energy in the welfare of the family and their environment, the result is always predictable, a successful economy of happy people, disciplined and quality leadership that is certain to earn the respect and love from the people, this is what is obtainable in Abia at the moment.” He said.
THE 30 MINUTE NAIJA MEAL PLANNER
“That is what H.E. Governor Alex Otti has achieved and we must respect that and continue to give him all the necessary support as Abia state indigenes and Nigerians that wants the best for our country.”
“The governor according to feelers from within the party and supporters of the party may not have played politics the Nigerian style but I remembered in the course of celebrating our victory and getting set for the business of new and dedicated governance, the Governor made a statement, that “none would be left behind in this journey to the promise land, everybody will definitely be carried along but let’s get the massive work of reconstruction started and when we have arrived at a certain progress, we will definitely observe the rules of the game.”
“I may not have quoted him correctly but all I can assure us is that, this will certainly play out as we can see from all indication and if we have come this far in the journey of rebuilding this center of commerce and industry that was once destroyed for politics of aggrandizement, we need all the patience and sacrifice to join hands with the Governor and make sure Abia do not fall back to the hands of criminal elements that once paraded their ugly self as leaders in this God’s own state” said Mr. Njoku
“That said’ We cannot afford to leave Abia to the vultures and scavengers, those who take relish in feeding on the carcass of the former old dirty Abia and those that are cashing out on the acclaimed crisis within the ruling party to fuel their greed and ignorance.”
“At this juncture, there is no mountain we cannot climb as a people of God, there is no battle that we as a party of God’s people and a united group of Abians cannot overcome,
“Whatever happens, we want to unite as a Party that wants to win elections and not merely to field candidates for the money and numbers rather but for the strength of the party especially here in Abia State, as the party that brought deliverance to Abia from the grips of demons in human skins that nearly ruined the future of this God’s own state.
“It’s only the wise that will look to the future and forge ahead despite the turbulence in the polity. I don’t want to believe the governor has offended anyone of us so much that we cannot for the sake of our homeland and our people come to terms and join hands in the ongoing great works of reconstruction in the State under this wise leadership and that’s the clarity I want to draw our attention to and I want to use this medium to encourage every member of the party from all sides of the divide to respect the decision of the court and sheath their swords, the court decision may not have favoured all parties and I do not expect it to favour everyone but for the sake of the future of the New Abia I would appreciate every member of the party to thread with caution and think of the future, Nevertheless, while the court is still involved in the business of the party, I do not want us to lose focus on the ‘new Abia’.
“We are one family of God’s people and the true face of the New Abia, we cannot lose out but continue to win in the maters of peace building and unity for a successful Abia State under God.”
Thank you!
