Residents, members and supporters of Abia State Labour Party welcomes the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the New Abia as he embarks on his fourth official tour of the South East.
The people of Abia State are very pleased with the President’s consideration to honour invitation extended by H.E. Gov Alex Otti to the Presidency to come and have first-hand impression of what the Labour party led government have made of the sordid situation we found the state on resumption of office.
The great changes we have established under the leadership of the people’s servant, H.E. Gov Alex Otti has in every sense of responsibility necessitated the christening of the ‘New Abia’ from the old order of filth, underdevelopment and indiscipline we met on ground.
This is the New Abia, with focused leadership that is committed to the implementation of the full dividends of democracy, beginning from the once dilapidated Umuahia Government House to the remodeled Michael Okpara auditorium to the renewed Secretariat housing various offices of the government to a disciplined workforce committed to the demands of labour and productivity, everything under the leadership of a government that is genuinely committed to the welfare of the citizenry wears the insignia of a new creation that is certain to shame and humiliate former occupants of government house who never saw the need to serve the people but indulge in shameful self gratification.
The Otti’s led Labour Party government has not only brought life back into the government of Abia but resurrected the spirit of commerce and industry which the state was famed for by reconstructing every abandoned public infrastructure which former occupant of government house took for granted while they continually chose to deceive the public on billboards displays of non-existent projects.
The Aba-Port Harcourt road is a classic example of sheer ignorance and wickedness of people voted into power to see the loss of economic dividends when significant road infrastructure projects are neglected, rather they chose to use their position to torment the citizenry, the over 30 years deathtrap named Omenuko bridge leading to Ohafia was a classic case of sheer negligence of all previous administrations put together, same goes with many of the signature projects executed under the supervision and leadership of the Otti’s labour party government, they were all completely abandoned for politics of greed and foolishness before the emergence of the people’s government led by H.E. Gov Alex Otti.
These are hallmarks of the Labour party led government as our motto entails; by committing to the demands of the people for a good and quality representative government, the functionality of the wheel of industry, labour and productivity that drives a buoyant economy and the discipline to live by the rules of accountability.
All these attributes of quality governance were lacking in the previous administrations that has ruled Abia until the State was completely run underground with no visible nor functional infrastructure of repute, the entire city was awfully filthy and disorganized that it earned all the negative tags of non productive, non performance government until the coming of the Labour Party government under the astute leadership of Gov Alex Otti, this heralded the beginning of a new Abia that works!
It is no gainsaying to make clear that the residents and indigenes of Abia State, both home and abroad are happy with the good news of improvement in the quality of life and public infrastructure in the region, for this reason they have joined the Governor, H.E. Dr. Alex Otti to welcome the President of Nigeria, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu to see for himself physical evidence of all that he has been reading and heard concerning the great strides Abia has made in the few years of his administration and in obedience to his continuous clarion call for State governors to join in his Renewed Hope agenda to revive the ailing Nigeria economy by working hard to create enabling environment that will sustain the President Renewed Hope for a Nigeria that works for all.
Perhaps this courageous move of partnership by the President of the Federal Republic and his endorsement of the great development ongoing in Abia under the leadership of the Otti’s Labour party government has drawn the anger of previous occupants of government of Abia whom by now has horded together under the umbrella of the ‘Oppositions’ to throw in the spanner into a moving wheel of progress in the state. Unfortunately, we, as a party and the people of Abia State has kicked them out and never will accept them again, this is a prophecy fulfilled and no amount of grandstanding or oppositions will make any sane person in Abia State accept those discordant voices struggling to use the visit of the Presidency to score cheap points of vain relevance. Their days of infamy and filth is gone and buried and never to rise again in Abia State.
Whether the President, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu come to Abia or send a representative, one message is clear, the President is welcomed to the South East and most importantly, Abia State where adherence to his clarion call for participatory leadership from the grassroots is held esteem and actively in practice, this is what has brought into existence the great development Nigerians have witnessed in the new Abia, completely a 360 degree away from the old Abia of those ‘Wanna be oppositions’ whom sole interest is to crawl back into power to do nothing but steal and destroy. While the people of Abia welcomes their President, we remain resolute in our rejection of those calling for the President boycott of our invitations, they are lone voices of the Old Abia we have trashed and will have nothing to do with them forever.
