“We are only limited by our collective complicity and docility in allowing in a majority the most selfish and incompetent men and women, to hold political offices, and use same to only line their pockets and that of their praise singers”
No external forces is stopping the south east from owning a river port, a massive international air gateway and industrialization
We are only limited by our collective complicity and docility in allowing in a majority the most selfish and incompetent men and women, to hold political offices, and use same to only line their pockets and that of their praise singers
Tin Can Island Port Apapa is not a DEEP Sea Port …It is a River Port
We built our own Jetty at the Koko River in Koko, Warri North..
It berths large vessels of 30tons capacity .. From the escravros point on the ATLANTIC ocean ,to our jetty , is 22/25 nautical miles small river channel that can only allow one vessel to pass at a time
We can build a River Port in Orashi,Imo state , Azumini in Abia and Even in Onitsha and other locations in Anambra that will take the same vessels berthing in Tin Can Island port apapa
What we need to do is to get Hope Uzodinma and other governors in the South East to put in place the right PPP structures to drive this process
We can easily dredge/ desilt the river channels from the Atlantic and do massive shoreline protections and embankment
Our Own Brother, Dr Enerst Obiejesi, Obijackson has the biggest facilities and machines to do this job clinically.
He bought and currently owns Former Julius Berger Dredgers
I know all this, because as the ADHOC Executive Secretary of the Depot Owners Association in the Warri, Koko and Oghara Areas, I was privileged to work with the topmost Professionals on this , in our desire/ plan to dredge, desilt and do shoreline protections to allow massive tonner vessels come into our jetties through the Koko/Oghara/Warri River channels under a PPP framework
There are many big river Ports in the world , some so farther away from the Oceans …
For instance ,…The River Port in Brazil ( through the Amazon River) is approximately about1,450 km from the Atlantic Ocean.
The river was dredged deep enough to be reached by large ocean-going vessels.
Interestingly, the Manaus is a major industrial hub in the Amazon and a free trade zone, and its port is vital for shipping and receiving goods from around the world.
We have done the numbers and know what it will cost to do these river ports projects the south east [ which is even very short distance from the Atlantic coasts .
The benefits are so huge to us as a people.
Not only will it grant us direct river pathway to bring in necessary raw materials to industrialise Ala Igbo, it will also help us to evacuate finished goods for export
The FGN is not blocking anyone … Buhari and Tinubu is not blocking anyone …Jonathan was President for 5 years, with Ndi Igbo practically running his government, ..No one stopped them… No one stopped allocations to the South East Governors… No one stopped them from tapping into the huge Diaspora assets we have and mobilizing them to do ring fenced rail project that links the whole of our cities under a PPP framework,…linking it to Ibeto Port and Terminals in Port Harcourt
Lagos state Governors mobilized the private sector to set up Lekki deep sea port and now Badagry Deep sea port
We are being blocked because we all allowed and permitted mostly men of low ambition, low intellect and low competences to occupy political offices and rule the South East region
While the political class is looting and doing nothing, the ignorant wild beasts in our bushes , chanting no referendum, no elections, sponsored / funded by some lousy cretins in Diaspora, are busy creating the insecure atmosphere that allows the same incompetent clowns to write elections results where no elections held
It is still greedy Ndi Igbo, who serve as electoral officers at the poll units, ward collation centers, LGA collection centers and state collation centers that doctor results that keeps the South East in darkness
We only need leaders with creativity and honest desires like Dr Michael Iheonukara Okpara & Dee Sam Mbakwe to develop the South East and make it the Singapore of Africa
