The leadership of ABIA State Labour Party attends a cross-political party leaders forum workshop on capacity building, organized by The International Republican Institute (IRI), with emphasis on policies of inclusion of marginalized groups in political participation.
In a statement obtained from the Abia State Chairman (Ag) of Labour Party, Prince G.O. Ndubueze. accompanied by the State Secretary, Dr. John Igbojionu and the State Youth Leader, Comrade Udo Ihediwa
The State Chairman stated that; “We are the only party that truly represents the general public in all ramifications, comprising of all categories of members of the society, our participation in this event only confirms our readiness to carry every member of the society along in our political sojourn to establish a government that truly represents the primary essence of democracy as a government of the people, elected by the people for the interest of all concerned and not a government of group of individuals that are fond of using the ordinary people and manipulating their unfortunate economic situations to win elections only to dump them in the end and form a government of the elites and for the elites.” He said
Accompanied by the the Institute’s Resident Program Director, Mr. Sentell Barnes, the group also paid an advocacy visit to the Labour Party National Headquarters in Abuja, where Mr. Barnes outlines IRI’s programmes and projects in Nigeria, emphasizing efforts to promote the inclusion of marginalized groups in political parties through policy development workshops and advocacy initiatives
