Veteran Politician and Strongman of Ohafia Politics Chief Iro Nkwa, one of the founding fathers of PDP in Abia State played host to leaders of Labour Party in Abia State at his country home in Ohafia yesterday. Members of the State Working Committee of Labour Party in Abia, led by the State Chairman (Ag) Hon. Prince Ndubueze had arrived Ohafia in a membership revalidation exercise and to inaugurate Caretaker Committee for the Ohafia LGA arm of the party.
Chief Iro Nkwa receiving the members of the delegation including the Abia State Director for Contact and Mobilisation for members of the Obedient family now duly fused into the party, thanked the team for finding out time to visit him. He expressed satisfaction at what Labour Party as a ruling party is doing in Abia State and encouraged members of the SWC in attendance to continue to work harder in order to sustain the victory of the party today in Abia.
’At the moment, it appears there is nothing to do anymore in PDP, but we have played our role in the state and the ball is now in the court of the ruling party and it is always wise to follow the ruling party’ said the Elder Statesman.
Chief Iro Nkwa joined PDP in 1995 and has facilitated in the emergence of several Abia state political leaders which in his own word, their success journeys began right here in his home in Ohafia including former Governor Orji Uzoh Kalu, Ogbonnaya Onu (late) Senator Uchechukwumerije (late), ex gov.T.A. Orji, Uche Ogah, and so many others.
This visit has added to the success journey of Labour Party in Ohafia and in Abia State as a whole and I encourage you to continue to work hard to carry everyone along for the interest of our state.
Responding to the warm reception given to the members of the SWC, the Acting State Chairman, Hon Prince Ndubueze heartily thanked the Veteran politician for his support to the party and confirming the wishes of every Abians today that, there is nothing to do in PDP anymore, there is nobody to receive PDP in Abia anymore, therefore Labour Party remain the right choice for any politician and anybody who wants a better Abia today.
