As we stand before the mirror today, few days to the end of the year, we have three truths, three realities; we cannot hide from anyone, and that is, the naked truth, the clothed truth and the cosmetic truth.

Standing tall in-front of the mirror, you see only yourself. If you’re stark naked, that is what you will see and if you’re adorned in a beautiful clothes, no doubt you must admire yourself first and if you tend to add cosmetics, only you know the blemishes and those areas that requires aesthetic touches to bring out the best in you or cover up your deficiencies.
No doubt, you’re what you see in the mirror and every individual, every nation is a reflection of what they put forward before the mirror, either your naked truth portraying the stark reality of what you are, your clothed self beautifying yourself or the added cosmetics portraying something you wish the world to see about you, your environment and your homeland.
As the curtain for the year 2024 draws to a close every citizens and resident of Abia State is bound by the exigency of time to look into the mirror and see how far the leadership of the state has fared in it’s responsibility to the citizenry and the homeland.
No doubt it’s been a very eventful year for the Otti’s Government and more for the people who have for over the years longed for a rescue from a past caged in inhuman political manipulation and disorientation.
As we stand before the mirror today, few days to the end of the year, we have three truth, three realities, we cannot hide from anyone, and that is, the naked truth, the clothed truth and the cosmetic truth.
The naked truth portrays the journey from the past, the old Abia to the New Abia. If there is any narratives, argument or discussion you should take home for the year 2024 under the Gov Alex Otti Labour party led government it is, that Abia state and its people has been pulled out from the dirt and rubble of political burden and governance without morals that once brought a collective shame to every indigene of the state, so much that even the thought of the traditional travels for Christmas holidays was highly contemplated.
Today, that is history, as the leader of the New Abia, Gov Alex Otti exemplifies the commitment to serve and rebuild entire dilapidated public infrastructures, a courageous attempt that has put Abia State on headline news across Nigeria and beyond such that there is an increased curiosity to visit Abia, the center attracting every individual and business owner relocating out of frustrating regions in Nigeria today.
“Every nation” they say “gets the leadership it deserves” because the leadership is often a reflection of the soul of the state. Leadership is a reflection of a society’s character. You cannot have a morally upright government in a society where the people are not morally upright.
Before the emergence of the Gov Otti’s administration, Abia state was clothed in a very filthy and shameful garment. The people were fed up to the teeth and could not tolerate the amoral and unethical behaviours of those acting as their leaders anymore, they kicked them out through the ballot box for a more credible and efficient characters in government.
That is the clothed truth and it speaks of the Alex Otti labour party led government. The past was literally disrobed, uprooted and discarded for something aesthetically appealing. That is the concept of the New Abia today and everywhere you go across the state, you will see that signature beautification of the New Abia.
Certain individuals, mostly from other political divides in Abia state have continuously struggled effortlessly to discredit the Otti’s government, either to whip up sentiments or to gain unwarranted recognition, acting as oppositions to the extent of organizing what they called “shadow government’ and appointing ‘shadow cabinet members’, all in a bid to distract the citizenry and distort information from the reality to something cosmetically untrue.
No doubt the Gov Otti’s led Labour party government may not be running an utopia government, it is certainly not without its deficiencies and weakness both in politics and administration but it cannot be hold accountable in those social media induced garbage that are continually being circulated by certain individuals that has found pastime online to distort facts on ground and deceive the unsuspecting public about the realities of the New Abia under the Gov Otti’s administration.
Cosmetic truth as applied to Abia state and circulated across the social media platforms by these unscrupulous characters is deceitful, that’s the essence of it, to deceive the unsuspecting public.
Abia state today under the Labour party led administration is undergoing complete infrastructure overhaul that do not require any embellishments.
You only need to visit Abia State and see the naked truth about the New Abia under the Gov Alex Otti led Labour party government.
It is a journey in the mirror, what you see is the reality on ground beginning from the onetime government house that used to wear the semblance of a pigsty to the capital city that used to wear the semblance of a refuse dump even in front of the government house,
Umuahia was once a dirt capital under previous PDP administration that has now assumed a mockery shadow government that is remote from their current political reality as ‘a permanent opposition’ party.
I have uncles whom have devoted decades of their career life as teachers in Abia State and they have never at any time failed to testify that they do enjoy a better working condition since the emergence of the Gov Otti’s led Labour party government and so much more from virtually every corner of the state, the government is as naked before the mirror as it continue to portray itself as a people-oriented government of credibility, efficient and morally conscious of the divine mandate by the people and for the people, for the voice of the people is the voice of God!
