Last week the social media space was awash with backlash against the Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives Hon. Benjamin Kalu for his unguarded statement towards unseating the government of Governor Alex Otti under Labour party and replacing it with APC in the next 2027 elections.
The public outcry against Hon. Ben Kalu was predictable and likened to what you get when you dare to stand against a moving train, if you’re not crushed dead, the wind from the cruising speed can blow off your clothes and everyone will see your nakedness to your shame.
Ben Kalu merely attempted to disrupt a work in progress, a project orchestrated by the long oppressed people of Abia state and he got the stones from all corners until there was no place to hide.
Every other attempts made to withdraw or deny his own careless statement by overzealous media aides ended in futility.
Abia state today under the Labour Party led leadership of Governor Alex Otti is a work in progress and it will be the greatest disservice to your homeland to disrupt the progress under whatsoever political nomenclature or maneuvers. Those fellows giving themselves sport over every social media platform under the guise of opposition is nothing but mere distractions we have learned not to engage in, In order to remain focused and committed to the ongoing reconstruction work across every fabric of the state.

Today, the good people of Abia are celebrating 33 years of existence as a state under the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Out of this 33 years, Abia spent a whooping 24 years under experimental political leadership with no known template either in environmental planning, socio-cultural and economic administration or fiscal responsibility. It was not there and the state merely drifted!
Political state actors under the previous occupants of government house nearly ran the state aground until there was no functional system left in existence, from basic infrastructure to health, education and most worrisome, the security situations, anywhere the name Abia was mentioned, the people of the state almost dared to hide their faces in shame because of the ridicule every citizen of Abia state suffered in the past.
That era of shame and infamy is gone and do not appear it will ever return to Abia state again and for that reason Hon Benjamin Kalu got the onslaught for daring to remind the hardworking people of the state who fought gallantly under the platform of the people’s party to install a leader they trust to share a common desire and passion to build a better homeland where hardwork, discipline and sincerity to your people pays.
This was not obtainable in the past in Abia state and do not appear as a feat the kind of political party Hon. Ben Kalu and others are parading can achieve because they are not people oriented but mere political avenues of self conceit and aggrandizement at the detriment of the ordinary people.
Labour Party is a people oriented party, and it is evidence in our logo, a party of hardworking people of industry, trade and commerce, we do not take for granted the victory Almighty God has given to us in this side of Nigeria.
While others groan under current economic hardship and rudderless governance that is prevalent in Nigeria today, we have been celebrating quality governance and improved economy in Abia State.
It is not a media statement, you only need to visit and see what evidence it present to have your state under the people’s party, Labour Party.
A political party that is not under the manipulation of a single individual or at the mercy of political gladiators nicknamed ‘godfathers’ rather it takes its stand on the moral will of the people to organise and govern themselves responsibly to achieve those long term desires of development and strong security.
This is the new Abia and in line with the statement made by our leader, His Excellency Governor Alex Oti, during his anniversary broadcast, “everyone of us is involved in the building process, the people, are the architects, providing very critical support and direction to ensure that what we have committed to do are being done, and that the resources of the State are rightly channeled to meet the needs of the majority” said Gov. Otti
As we celebrate another year of a new beginning, we will continue to give credits to everyone who have supported this great project of reconstruction from the ruins of the past to the accelerated development of today led by this God’s humble servant H.E. Governor Alex Otti and we will continue to stand strong against any attempt to take back the hands of the clock of change that we the people have hang on the wall to those years of political scavengers parading as rulers but are nothing but advanced house negroes destroying their own home under awkward and unproductive party alliance.
In the final statement by the people’s leader, the humble Gov. Alex Otti, said; ”Our development framework is comprehensive which explains why we are not just building new layers of physical infrastructure; we are also improving access to social services through sustained investments in the revival of healthcare facilities and schools.”
This will make Abia a truly safe destination for residents and their businesses and for others that are joining us in no distant time in this God’s own state.
